Things To Consider About Your Domain Name
When registering your domain name, try to:
- Include one of your main keywords for your business in your domain name (somename-brokers.com),
this could help you get better results on search engines and it would help visitors to be immediately clear on what
your site is all about.
- Use a name that's not difficult to remember. Your name can be up to 63 characters long and may contain numerals,
but try to keep it between 5 - 20 characters, and use something that's easy to spell. You may also use dashes if it
helps for readibility, but generally don't use them if your name only contains two words.
- Register your name with either the .com or your country's top level domain (ex. co.za). If you can, even go for
both. People might remember your domain name, but automatically enter .com afterwards, meaning that if you don't
own the .com extension, yourname.com will be getting some of your business.
Lastly, if you find your name available, register it today, it might not be there anymore tomorrow. Many companies
offer you the option to register your domain (yearly fee), and park it on their servers for free, which means no
monthly costs. | |   |
